Gift Aid

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is an income tax relief designed to benefit charities and good causes. Gift Aid works from the registered charity reclaiming the basic rate of tax on your gift. Therefore if you’re a UK taxpayer it will increase the value of your charity donations by 25%, so for every £1 you donate the charity or good cause Gift Aid means would raise an additional 25p – this all comes at no extra cost to you.

jumblebee is registered with Gift Aid so all of our fundraising sites are able to claim Gift Aid. We only take our % from the funds raised (not funds raised + Gift Aid, unlike some other donation platforms)

How do I know if I qualify?

For us to claim Gift Aid on your donation you must have paid UK Income or Capital Gains Tax that financial year. The tax you pay must be equivalent to the amount of Gift Aid we’re reclaiming on your donation that tax year. If your income is below £11,000 you won’t be able to claim Gift Aid on eligible donations.

You can’t claim Gift Aid on donations on behalf of someone else or a company.

Your donations won’t qualify for Gift Aid if they’re more than four times what you’ve paid in tax that tax year. If you stop paying tax you must stop claiming Gift Aid.
